Error Fetching http headers

May 28th, 2008

If you are getting this message when you are using the PHP SoapClient class, and you know the service you are connecting to is working properly, then it means your Soap Service is taking too long to respond. The fix for this is to increase the default_socket_timeout in your php.ini

If you are having this problem with other types of connections to external services this will be your fix.

I haven’t found a game that this system can not run at full-settings. I was told to try Crysis, I installed it in Windows Vista x64 and it even detected my system to run at full-settings. I made sure they were, and ran the demo. It ran without a glitch, smoothly. This is only with one Graphics card. Imagine if we had 2 in a SLI configuration.

Update our House

June 17th, 2007

Hannah and I have dreams of updating the outside of our house. The problem is, we have a lack of funds, so we decided to play with the idea with some photo editing software. This is what we came up with.

We toyed with the idea of having a black roof, black shutters, and new windows. All the below pictures are the same except for the color of fence.

Stevensontribe.com

March 13th, 2007

Over the weekend I purchased some hosting space which before I was running my old laptop as my 24/7 webserver. I was starting to see some funny things happening, which looked like data corruption when I went to add a post to my blog. Luckily the database information is still safe. I decided it was time to move.

I had my family genealogy on my old server but it was too slow to show off. After I moved, I found it to be really fast and convenient. You can see my families genealogy at Stevensontribe.com

If you know anyone who would like their families genealogy on the web for $7.50/month which includes hosting, domain registration (your own www name), and Free website setup, please contact Kory Hoopes or myself.

WorldFactorium.com Released!

February 17th, 2007

Recently, Kory Hoopes and I released a site that we did in about 3 weeks in our spare time after work/school.  We’re going to be creating a lot of these high quality sites that are useful, in a short period of time.

Worldfactorium.com is a site created from the world fact book put out by the CIA.  This data is a great source for research and can be used in many assignments or just for personal interest.  It is data about each country in the world.  We’ve added googlemaps to show the location of the country, and search capabilities to find data fast.

If you find this site useful, please donate, to help pay for server expenses and our time. :)  If you have any recommendations that you would like to add to this site, please send us a note, or leave a comment on the forum we’ve setup.

Spam Comments in Blog

January 9th, 2007

It’s sad when I see that I have 12 new comments in moderation, and all of them are spam.  So, for those out there who think they are going to get more links to their site by putting spam in my comments, you’re WRONG!  I moderate every comment, and as you can see, I don’t get that many comments, so it’s not too difficult. :)

I hope you enjoy wasting your, my, and the rest of the users who use the Internets’ time in doing something so rude.

Alternative to onselect in

January 2nd, 2007

onselect does not work in IE with the “option” tag in html.

The workaround is to use the onchange event in the “select” tag

Example:

select name=”something” onchange=”someJavascriptFunction(value)”
option value=”valueToPass1″
option value=”valueToPass2″
/select

Whatever is in the value parameter in the “option” tag will be passed to the javascript function.
The javascript parameter ‘value’ must be called ‘value’.

This works in IE and Firefox. No need to use the onclick in the tag for Firefox.
